Two members of Indian Navy Mt Everest Expedition Team, LMA Sachin Kanjalkar and LMA Manoj Adari successfully summited Mt Lhotse at 1000 hrs on 25 May 2017. Mt Lhotse is the sister peak of Mt Everest. Standing at 8516M, it is the fourth highest peak in the world after Everest, K2 and Kanchenjunga. Both the climbers stayed at Camp II for four days waiting for the adverse weather to clear up and on the first available opportunity, they set out to achieve the glory for the Indian Navy.

Earlier four members Anant Kukreti, C S Yadav, Shashank Tewari and Bikas Maharana had successfully summitted the ‘Sagramatha’ at 0630hrs on 21 May 2017.  The second team comprising 05 members has also commenced its final ascent from Camp II at 0630 hrs on 25 May 2017. They are likely to reach summit during early morning on 27 May 2017.
