India-Africa Health Sciences Meet in Vigyan Bhawan

A three day India-Africa Health Sciences Meet, is being jointly organised by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Ministry of External Affairs from 1-3 September, 2016, in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This event is a follow up to Third India Africa Forum Summit held in October 2015.

Four Ministries, i.e., Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Commerce are collaborating for holding this event. Health Ministers along with specialists, experts and relevant stakeholders in the field of health sciences of African nations have been invited to participate in the event.

Discussions are likely to focus on capacity building for health and biomedical research, medical and health professionals’ education, disease priority and research areas of focus, human resource development for industrial processes, Africa based manufacturing and IPR/regulations/pharmacopeia.

The inaugural address will be given by Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare. Minister of State for External Affairs will also address the Meet.

An industry exposition showcasing innovative technologies in the health sciences sector will also be organised during the Meet.
