Govt promotes 36 Bureaucrats As Additional Secretary across 27 Ministries

In a big Indian Bureaucracy news, 36 IAS officers were promoted to Additional Secretary position across 27 different ministries. The most prominent being creation of new post for the role of Mission Director, National Water Mission, appointment of full  time CMD of FCI, new DDA Vice Chairman and new Member Secretary in National Commission for Women.

Ministry of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation

1. Nikhilesh Jha, IAS, MN:1984 cadre, has been appointed as the first Mission Director of National Water Mission.

Ministry of Women and Child Development

1. Ms. Preeti Madan, IES 1981, is the new Member Secretary in National Commission for Women. She replaces Ms. Nandita Chaterjee, IAS of WB:1980 cadre.

Ministry of Home Affairs

1. Shri Sailesh, IAS (AM:1985), as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs by upgrading the post of Joint Secretary as Additional Secretary.
2. Shri C. Chandramouli, IAS (TN:1985), as Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India (Additional Secretary level) under the Ministry of Home Affairs by upgrading the post to the level of Additional Secretary.

Ministry of Defence

1. Shri J. Rama Krishna Rao, IAS (BH:1985) replaces Shri Anup Chandra Pandey, IAS (UP:1984) as Additional Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare.
