Dr Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD, NLCIL inaugurated a 40 MW Solar Power Project in Neyveli at Block-14 Polling Substation this morning (23.08.2017). In his presidential address the CMD said that, the concept of renewable energy through solar power projects at Neyveli began two years back with 10 Mw, presently it is 50 Mw slated to reach 140 Mw in a couple of months. The 60 years old company with people possessing all the potential, can reach new heights with the sky as the limit, only if you strengthen your mind and the will for “yes, I can” attitude. We are creating wealth for the wellbeing of people through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The market today has taken a paradigm shift from the Suppliers Dictated to the Demand reviewed market. Complacency should be absent for us to achieve goals for excelling in all the fronts.

The above 2 x 65 Mw Solar Power Project in an area of 650 acres with Poly Crystalline technology for the modules at different module ratings to generate 216.372 Million Units of green power per annum and the TANGEDCO has agreed to pay Rs.4.41 per unit of power under the power purchase agreement. The Grid connectivity on a permanent basis will be 110/220 KV NNTPS Substation and 110 KV Panruti Feeder LILO connection on a Temporary basis. This Green power initiative is likely to reduce the loading of about 2.16 Lakh tonnes of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere compared to the fossil fuel.

Functional Directors Shri Rakesh Kumar, Shri Subir Das,Shri P.Selvakumar,              Shri R.Vikraman and CVO Shri T.Venkatasubramanian graced the occasion.              Shri Selvakumar welcomed the gathering and Shri P.A.Senthilkumar, CGM (P&BD) proposed vote of thanks. Senior officials, and the representatives of trade unions and associations participated.
