Entire north India continued to reel under severe heat wave conditions. The highest temperature in Delhi reached a peak of 44.1 degree celsius, the hottest this season. Hisar in Haryana registered the highest temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal. Patiala sizzled at 43.6 degrees Celsius.

In Himachal Pradesh, the mercury rose to season’s highest level making Una sizzle at 42.2 degrees Celsius. Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. In Uttar Pradesh, the mercury continued to soar above 45 degrees in many parts. AIR correspondent reports that People of Bundelkhand in state are reeling under heat wave where mercury is breaking all records. Today in Banda district of the area temperature recorded 47.2 degrees which is four degree above the normal average.

Temperature continues to stay above 45 degrees in other cities like Jhansi, Orai and Allahabad. Although in some cities including state capital lucknow maximum temperature recorded little below yesterday. Meteorological department says that due to change in wind pattern some isolated places in eastern uttar Pradesh can receive light rainfall also.

In Rajasthan, the highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains was 46.1 at Churu. According to the IMD forecast, dry weather conditions will prevail in Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Marathwada and Lakshadweep for the next 24 hours with a marginal fluctuation in the mercury.
