The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Government of India has organised a two-day Regional Conference on ‘Path Breaking and High Impact Initiatives in Citizen Centric Services Delivery System’ in Guwahati, Assam. Shri. C. Viswanath, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India inaugurated the Conference yesterday.

On the second day of the Conference today, panellists discussed on how e-Office and Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) have benefited for the citizen centric governance and Government employees. Smt. Rachna Srivastava, Senior Tech. Director, National Information Centre made a presentation on e-Office and opined that Personal Information Management System, File Management Systems, Property Return Information System Management and other e-Office management systems help to speed up the administrative system.

Dr. Meenakshi Mahajan, Senior Technical Director, National Information Centre spoke on the CPGRAMS and explained the importance and need of the CPGRAMS. The panel discussion was moderated by Smt. Smita Kumar, Joint Secretary, DAPRG.

Making a presentation on Initiatives/Reforms, Shri K. Bhutia, Secretary, Horticulture, Government of Sikkim explained the success of the Sikkim Organic Mission and spoke on the sustainability comparison in organic productivity. Shri J.D. Bhutia, Special Secretary, Tourism and CS, Government of Sikkim presented on Sikkim Tourism Mission. Shri V. K. Mantri, Additional Secretary, Programme Implementation and Evaluation Department, Government of Meghalaya gave presentation on Integrated Basin Development Livelihood Programme.

Dr. N. Vijaya Lakshmi, Managing Director, Mahila Vikas Nigam, Patna spoke on the Gram Varta-Village Dialogue, A Women’s Group Lead Initiative for Improved Health, Nutrition and Sanitation.

Shri Atluri Rama Rao, ED, Andhra Pradesh Fibre Grid Corporation described the plan and execution of AP Fibre project. The panel discussed the issues on Initiative in Tele-linking remote and inaccessible areas. Shri R.K. Tondar, Director, Department of Telecommunication, Shri Fakaruddin Ahaed, ACS, Joint Secretary, IT, Assam, Shri. Atluri Rama Rao, ED, Andhra Pradesh Fibre Grid Corporation and Shri K.D. Vizo, Commissioner and Secretary IT, Nagaland discussed and presented their state’s presentations on Remote Area Connectivity and Accessibility.

The two-day conference was organised by DARPG in collaboration with the Government of Assam. Delegates from 8 states of North Eastern Region including Sikkim and 4 states of Eastern Region i.e. West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand participated in the conference which aimed to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of citizen centric governance, improved public service delivery through e-Governance, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly effective administration.
