New Delhi:The National Civil Aviation Policy was announced on 19th  June, 2016 and the Draft Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) had been announced on 1st July, 2016.

Sri Mahesh Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Civil Aviation along with the Secretary of Civil Aviation had a meeting with the officials of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh and Airports Authority of India to discuss on the progress on development of airports in the State of Uttar Pradesh and on implementation of the RCS at Uttar Pradesh airports. Earlier, AAI had signed an MOU with the State Government of Uttar Pradesh on 24.02.2014 to develop  airports  /Civil  Enclaves  at  7  airports  namely,  Agra,  Allahabad,  Bareilly,  Kanpur, Faizabad, Meerut and Moradabad. For this, the Master Plan has already been prepared by AAI and the land requirement projected is of State Government. State Government has started the land acquisition proceedings and the land will be available for Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly and Kanpur by October, 2016. It was decided to construct ‘No Frill Airports’/ Civil Enclaves at these airports. Considering this, the State Government has requested that the land requirement for Meerut, Faizabad and Moradabad to be re‐worked out. It was decided to revise the complete Master Plan within one month’s time so that the State Govt. can start land acquisition proceedings. For Jewar airport, State Govt. has submitted application for getting the site clearance  from  the  Steering  Committee.  It  was  advised  that  the  obstacle  survey  to  be completed by the State Govt at the earliest so that the application for site clearance can be processed. Hon’ble Minister has asked the State Govt. officials to expedite this process.
