CBI questions Hooda over irregular allotment of industrial plot

Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over irregularities in allocation of an industrial plot in Panchkula.

Earlier on May 1, the probe agency examined former IAS officer and UPSC member Chattar Singh in connection with the irregular allotment of an industrial plot, in which Hooda is also named as an accused.

The CBI has registered a case under the section 201,204,420,409,467,471,120 B of the Indian Penal Code and section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act against certain former officials of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and 13 beneficiaries and unknown others on the request of the present Haryana Government.

Singh, a 1980-batch former officer, was Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister between 2009-13.

Searches were conducted at sixteen locations including Chandigarh, Panchkula, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Karnal, Kurukshetra, and Rohtak
