Gandhi Jayanti is being celebrated across the country in diverse ways, but Delhi based motorcycling community named Bikers for Good is heading out to do Gandhigiri on two wheels.

On the morning of 2nd of October, 2016, around 800 bikers will ride to Jantar Mantar to give free hugs to Delhi Police, present the cops with flowers and thank them for keeping Delhi safe and sane.

The ride will be joined by motorcycling clubs from across Delhi NCR like GODS, Delhi Bikers Breakfast Run, Bikers Paradise, Iron Men Motorcycle club etc. Ranging from basic Royal Enfields to Harley Davidsons and even bigger superbikes, the ride will attract people of all ages and social strata. On being asked about the ride, Mohit, Founder of Bikers for Good commented, “All bikers are not bad people, nor are all the cops. Just because of a few bad elements, why should all be blamed? We are doing this ride to change attitudes and to promote safer roads.”

The ride is called Real Bikers Respect Laws and will be led by Shabnam Akram, member of The Bikerni All Women Motorcycle Club.

“The cops have a very thankless job. There’s only one cop for every 258 Delhites. I think it’s high time we thank them for all that they are doing for us”, said Shabnam.

JK Tyre is also supporting this initiative with a campaign that carries the message of bringing out the good in you.

With this ride, Bikers for Good completes 5 years of doing good. It has more than 6000 members across India and has supported campaigns like the Accessible India Campaign to help Indians get better lives. We hope these rangers of good make a much needed difference to Delhi and its road rage problem.
