Army chief General Bipin Rawat arrived here on a two-day visit to take stock of the security situation in Ladakh region, particular on Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. A Defence Ministry spokesperson said Gen Rawat would take part in a function where President Ram Nath Kovind will present President’s Colours to all the five battalions of Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre tomorrow. Meanwhile, defence sources said the Army Chief will also take stock of the security situation and operational preparedness of the troops along the Line of Control (LAC). This visit of the Army chief comes few days after reports that China’s Army has been trying to open a new front in Ladakh region after Doklam standoff.
