AAI at forefront in fight against Drug Abuse

Airports Authority of India co- sponsored 14th Mass Run event on the occasion of ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse’ to create awareness about the ill effects of drugs at India Gate Lawns which received massive participation. The theme of the event was “Let’s develop communities without drugs.” The event was a joint effort by AAI and various Government Ministries to promote awareness about the Drug Abuse.

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, and Shri Vijay Sampla, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment flagged off the Run at India Shri Sudhir Raheja, Chairman, AAI and Shri Anuj Agarwal, Member (HR) accompanied by more than 400 AAI officials and more than 5000 people from various walks of life including students, NGO workers, defence and police personnel participated in the event. This was AAI’s second such initiative. At the time of the ‘Run’, AAI’s “LOGO” was visible throughout the event.aai-indianbureaucracy

The participation by the AAI shows the great value it attaches with promoting awareness about social causes. As a gesture of goodwill, AAI also provided refreshment and drink to the participants.

As a curtain raiser to this event, earlier a ‘Prabhat Ferry’ was organized in AAI’s residential colonies wherein all the residents took part with appropriate banners in their hand to create awareness about the ill effects of drugs. In this ‘Prabhat Ferry’, the residents showed keen enthusiasm, as this is the need of the hour to educate our new generation about the drug abuse.
